Vintage Fada Model 1000 Catalin “bullet” tube radio, all original, excellent.
The original Fada Model 1000 radio is among the most iconic designs of the 20th century. It graces the exhibits of museums and galleries around the world. Yet it was made right here in the U.S., in Long Island City, NY, during the technology’s golden era, when radio was king.
Check out the Model 1000’s streamlined Catalin bakelite cabinet. Its eye-popping original dark coffee & ...yellow colors, classic A.M. dial, and retractable top handle, all make it highly sought after, especially in this sterling shape.
The gorgeous Fada Model 1000 that you see here is in full working condition, and it has never had a break or repair. In fact, it hardly has a scratch on it, except on the underside, and not many there either. Please look closely at the pics -- you’d be hard-pressed to find a finer example.
I’ve owned this Fada radio for over a decade, and took great care of it. Before that, and for many years, it was behind glass in a Catalin collection. It will look just as fine on display in your own home, gallery, or office.

P.S. I’m sure if you looked super close you could find a few tiny micro-scratches, near impossible to photograph, 73 years on. Overall though, this is the cleanest example I’ve seen in a good while.
