For your consideration: An excellent example of one the most intricate and well made casting reels ever produced. The reel measures only 2 inches in diameter and 3/4 of an inch across the inside of the spool and has a 4 to 1 ratio of retrieve. The reel is fitted with a system of gears which apart from being beautifully smooth in operation, engage automatically&nbs...p;upon beginning the retrieve. The reel uses centrifugal force to help prevent overrun, a system patented by Hardy Bros. in 1914. The reel has a small felt brake built into the end plate of the reel for casting as well as a star style drag that can be used when fighting a fish. To make the reels light in weight they made the frames from Hiduminium with phosphor bronze gears. A super high quality little casting reel made with true English quality.
