Antique 7" gilt-edged porcelain ewer made in 1888 in the UK by Royal Worcester. Exquisite attention to detail: the gold-painted salamander that forms the handle features tiny teeth, claws, facial features, and scales. The body is hand-painted with a variety of floral sprays in blue, pink, red, yellow, green, and brown, all outlined in gold paint. The date of manufacture (1888, indicated by the letter "Z") and brand seal are stamped on the bottom as pictured. The ew...er was purchased in 2009 and has been kept in storage ever since. There is a small chip to the interior of the spout, which does not affect the structural integrity of the ewer. The cream "base" color shows some slight, natural fading and discoloration due to age. This ewer is a beautiful addition to your antique collection or china display case and may also be used as a bud vase or small pitcher.
