This Meissen quality pair of figurines has been traced by its maker's mark to the Rudolstadt-Volkstedt area of Thuringia to the factory of Triebner, Ens & Eckert operating from 1877 to 1894. Their matching costumes are meticulously hand painted in shades of brown with white and peach blush and all highlighted in gold accents. She is 5.75" tall while he measures 6.5". They both bear the 'double hayforks' mark dating to 1877-1894 era. The Lady has chipped fingers on... both hands-barely noticeable. The Gentleman shows chipped fingers and the loss of porcelain covering the metal reinforcement and shaping the sword or epee. Since there is not another like this to compare to I don't know what that area should look like. It is NOT an eye-catching defect. For figurines this old this damage is minimal but is reflected in the price. I find no other defects. Extra insurance will be included. Please Note: All Buyers must pay thru PayPal. I try to describe all of my items as completely and accurately as possible and offer many photos from various angles for your inspection. If you have any questions please ask before purchase as all sales are considered final. Reasonable offers will be considered.
