Up for auction is a beautiful medieval illuminated manuscript Breviary leaf in Latin (for the Use of Autun, where it was possibly made) on clean supple vellum, dated 1474 (the exact year is known because I also own the colophon leaf of the same manuscript, which specifically states "1474" as the date of production). There are a total of 11 gold initials with infill design...8 of which have additional gold and floral sprays in the margins. Note that the prick marks from ruling the l...eaves are still evident in the outer margins. This very attractive leaf is in excellent condition and it measures approx. 7 1/3 x 5 1/3 inches (185 x 135mm).
Guaranteed to be completely genuine, so please bid with confidence!
Shipping is $10 within the USA and varies elsewhere (I will only ship to Europe, Canada, and Australia at the moment). Payment must be arranged within 3 days after the closing of the auction. Please email me with any questions. Thank you!
