Up for auction is a very attractive vellum illuminated medieval manuscript leaf in Latin from a Book of Hours that originated in France, circa 1450. There is a large blue initial on a burnished gold background with an extending gold bar border and marginal decorations. Notice the small butterfly and bird miniatures in the margins! The reverse is blank. This pretty leaf is in very good condition and measures approx. 5 1/2 x 3 3/4 inches.
