Original Description:
Vintage 1959 Gibson GA-77 Vanguard amp, tweed. Clean, orig. Kick-ass powerhouse.
The pure vintage tone of this big high-gain brute is incredible.  Brilliant clear bell-like tones, warm and rich with a surprisingly awesome sustain.  But now crank the volume up a touch past mid-level, and the twin 6L6 30-watt power circuits reward you with a rollicking break-up, very similar to a Fender Super or Bandmaster.  The whopping 15” original Jensen speaker pushes air l...ike a hurricane.
Plus the GA-77 has two totally separate channels, each with its own volume, treble, and bass adjustments.  And each with its own individual tone, too. Jack into Channel Two for a fatter blues vibe. For an even richer, fuller sound, jump them together and play through both channels at once -- the tone is near symphonic!
Even better, the Gibson GA-77 you see here is from the magical year of 1959, when the very best American vintage gear was made.  Plus, the amp is very clean, especially considering it’s celebrating its 60th birthday this year. Check out the pics. The chrome control panel gleams like new, with just a couple of minor scratches.  The original grille cloth is without a single rip or snag. The tweed has zero major scuffs or shreds. And the inside is as original as outside. Only three caps have been changed, that’s it.
Best of all, I’ve just had the GA-77 checked out by one of the best techs here in New England.  He said this amp sounds so good he wondered if I’d take his ‘68 Princeton in trade. No thanks!
The GA-77 is complete with a big original 1959 Gibson amps fold-out flyer, showing their entire amp lineup, including this very amp.  If you’ve never played through one of Gibson’s late 50’s big beasts, you are in for one hell of a thrill. Finding one in this original clean shape is a pleasure indeed.  You may never go back to your other amps.

You may rest assured that all my descriptions are accurate, with no disappointments, no unpleasant surprises.  I take pride in offering only the very best. I know you’ll enjoy owning this phenomenal amp as much as I have.      I also pack well, like a vault.  Your amp will arrive to you safe, sound, and ready to soothe your soul, or rock the house down.
* By the way, a few sharp viewers have noticed that while the amp is from 1959, the original speaker is dated 1956. In fact, every GA-77 that I've seen that was made between 1958 and 1960 all have their 15" speakers dated 1956. I can only assume that Gibson purchased one lot of these 1956 speakers, which they then used entirely for the GA-77. Also keep in mind that very few of the amps were made, perhaps only a hundred or so.
