There isshell corn at the bottoms of the jaclas, which taper from about 3.5 mm to 9 mmin diameter. The jaclas are strung on monofilament type nylon fishing line andare attached to a 1.75” section of sterling silver chain on each side, so thatthey can be worn as a cho...ker. There is a sturdy spring ring clasp for closure. It is difficult to assess the variety of the turquoise used for theconventionally drilled heishe beads. Some looks like either #8, Blue Gem, Fox, or Cerrillos turquoise – so a variety of turquoise might have been used tocreate the jaclas.Overall, very goodquality and condition, with a crude ethnic appeal. The thinner of the twostrands is missing one piece of white shell corn at the bottom. Jaclas are ca.1940’s. Natural turquoise jaclas are VERY collectible! Reasonable wholesalestarting price.
