Up for sale is a Model 1850 Ames Staff and Field Officer Sword !!!!  This is a very nice example of an untouched relic of the War Between the States !!!The sword is in very good condition.  it is marked Ames on the blade near the ricasso.  All of the etching is visible with some staining due to age.  The grip retains its original shark skin wrap.  The wire has gone missing except for a few turns under the pommel.  The guard and pommel have a great mustard patina.  The guard has ...the US that makes this a staff and field officer sword.  The steel scabbard has all the brass mounts present including the throat.  The upper mount is Ames marked.This is a great piece of American Civil War history !!!!  Don't miss the opportunity to hold this relic in your hands !!!!Good Luck !!!
