Sonning Vintage Watches Stunning 1980 Rolex Oyster Perpetual Date Gents Vintage WatchThe OverviewThis is a beautiful example of the Rolex Oyster Perpetual Date from 1980. The solid steel case is in excellent condition with only the most minimal signs of wear. The original Rolex signed steel pearlescent dial has been professionally refinished to highest possible standard and is classically Rolex – there is a very minor mark just to the left of the ‘6’ ...baton at the very edge of the dial. The applied steel hour batons and hands provide the softest contrast to the dial and are perfectly framed by the gleaming smooth bezel. The very high grade Rolex signed chronometer standard automatic movement is again in very good condition and has just been fully serviced by our professional watchmaker. To complete this stunning piece we’ve added a new, super high quality, black Hirsch ‘London’ alligator strap with steel Hirsch buckle. These retail at £199.00.My asking price is below the value for a watch of this condition and rarity, particularly with the continual rise in value of vintage watches of this high quality. The case measures 35mm across, excluding the Rolex signed crown and 42mm long including the lugs. The inside case is signed ‘Montres Rolex SA Geneva Switzerland’, ‘Patented Stainless Steel’ and the case number is ‘1500’.
