This is an auction for an original WW2 era photo scrapbook of U.S. occupation forces and troops in France and Germany and Japan. The first photo seen in this auction is the original reference photo used for the painting in the other listing I have featuring WW2 art, meaning Master Sergeant "Vince Carter" painted on silk. This scrapbook has several photos of Nazi crashed Luftwaffe planes, destruction at the port of Le Havre France (a few photos), U.S. troops port side, in barracks, etc.... Photos seem to be from Germany, France and Japan. The album measures 11 x 13.5 inches. There are 190 b/w photos all together plus 1 color photo. One soldier is doing a good impersonation of Adolph Hitler with salute. There are some travel photos including a few from California, San Francisco, Trees of Mystery, cars, posing, etc. Almost all of the photos date from 1946 or thereabouts, some have writing on the back. They are all loosely glued down, a few have come off the page. There are a few larger group portraits matted in the back, not mounted. The listing which features a "Vince Carter" portrait, this art was done by a G.E. SINZ, being that one of the sketches is signed SINZ and the portrait is of a Staff Sergeant SINZ. Also in the lot of sketches is a sketch of a L. BORDING, 1946, ANSBACH, who looks to be the main soldier featured in the scrapbook. One photo in this scrapbook with this soldier is labeled MY KITCHEN CREW ANSBACH 1946 GERMANY, of course I am not sure if L. BORDING is the name of the soldier portrayed or the artist. Also one of the photos is labeled THE START OF MY PAINTING, which is a giant mural landscape painting for a restaurant. These photos are in excellent condition, not faded, sharp and detailed. If someone was really deciphering more info about this album, the photos could be steamed off. Email with any questions or answers.
