Richard PoltThe Classic Typewriter Page https://site.xavier.edu/polt/typewriters/rem-portables.htm#porto-riteThis is what he says about the Porto-Rite typewiters:1930-1934TheseRemingtons were marketed by Sears Roebuck; their serial numbers begin with"SR." Remington records start with SR14972, but the lowest serialnumber I have seen is SR5145. The Porto-Rite was sold as early as 1930 for$51.50 (cash) or $55 (installments). Most Porto-Rites are identical to the #2, but some are identical to the #3. They come both in black and in colors.Normally they are marked "Porto-Rite, " but I know of one specimenmarked "Remington, " looking exactly like a two-tone green #2, despite its"SR" serial number
This typewriter is in good condition, considering it is about 90 years old. The case shows minimal wear. There is no key, but the lock looks like older suitcase locks and a key should not be too difficult to find. There is an older ribbon. We tested each key and all function properly. There is very minor wear on the typewriter itself. Please review all of the photos as they are a part of the description. Insurance and delivery confirmation are included in the shipping charges.
