Vintage 1959 Olympia SM-4 Green Portable Typewriter in excellent condition. This particular typewriter is one of the best examples of what Olympia was making at the time given its spotless condition. It is extremely clean and has been well maintained throughout the years. It shows little to no signs of wear as the pictures speak for themselves.
This typewrite was slightly serviced with what little dust there was being blown out and all of the places that need oil were lightly oiled.... The paint was cleaned too and the chrome trim was polished to really bring out the beauty of this Olympia typewriter. Everything was thoroughly tested and a new ribbon installed.
The mid-century Olympia typewriters are regarded as some of the finest ever manufactured by any company. The SM-3 is perhaps Olympia's most famous typewriter, a favorite of writers the world over. The SM-4, however, is an improvement of the SM-3 with it's one-touch tabulator set and clear buttons on either side of the space bar.
This specimen of the SM-4 line is one of the best examples of this model I have ever seen, and it's the absolute perfect typewriter for the serious writer. It even comes with the streamlined carrying case, which is less common for the SM-4's. The case itself has been lightly cleaned and polished to showcase its own beauty.
