Vintage Griswold No 7 Cast Iron Dutch Oven Restored Conition

This is a hard-to-find No 7 Griswold Dutch oven pattern 2603-E with fully-lettered cover pattern 2604-B, from the 1920s or 1930s. The more common Dutch ovens often have a smooth cover or the late style bail ears. The cooking surface still retains most of its original polishing marks and has patches of etching from corrosion. These are nearly undetectable as you glide your fingers over a very smooth surface. Has a slight wobble. No chips, cracks or repairs but does have a slight wobble ...(see photos). Item was stripped down to bare metal using collector approved lye bath and electrolysis treatments. This process insures the removal all residue from previous use making it safe to use once more. Item is well seasoned with several rounds of seasoning. This items were photographed in very bright light to highlight fine details. Under these lighting conditions, item will take on a brown color.
