Overall, in good condition. Dust cover is in two pieces and ripped. There is some damage in the bottom right corner of the book throughout a fair number of the pages (esp. ~ p. 59 to 111) - this does not effect the readability of the book. Text and photos are in very good condition. Minor foxing on outer pages.INTRODUCTION BY W. O. BENTLEYIt is wi...th pleasure that I introduce Darrrell Berthon's A Racing History of the Bentley. It is fitting that this first complete record of the racing history of the Bentley car should come from the pen of one who has been so long a member of the Bentley Drivers Club. There have been a pleasantly surprising number of books about the old Bentley in recent years. In the days of the Old Company we did not lack publicity—especially around the middle of June in the late '20S!-but apart from technical manuals, I do not remember a single book that was devoted exclusively to the car. And if someone had prophesied in 1930 that a large and handsome volume recording the Bentley's successes (and failures!) would be on sale in the bookshops a quarter of a century later, I would have considered the prophet not rash but mentally uncertain. However, here it is and I am quite certain that / am not being a rash prophet when I say that I think it will give not only B.D.C. members but also all who have an affection for vintage cars and vintage motoring a great deal of pleasure. I wish it all success.W. O. BENTLEY
