These aretwo superb large photos of Leviathan’sbeautiful staterooms. She was extensively reconditioned after WW1 and you canreally see the quality of the finish in these images: · One shows a stateroom (withadjoining room visible through the open door). I love that you can make outparts of the pier building through the porthole while the liner was docked inNew York ·&nb...sp; The other shows a suite withLouis XVI beds with cane sides and footboard. You can even see a telephone onthe sideboard! Originallylaunched as the Vaterland for the HamburgAmerica Line, she was seized during WW1 by the US government. After the war Leviathan was reconditioned and enteredtransatlantic service in 1924 along with her two sister ships the older SS Imperator (which went to the Cunard Lineas the RMS Berengaria) and theyounger SS Bismarck (which went tothe White Star Line as the RMS Majestic). Each photois about 9.5 by 7.5 inches (24 by 19cm), sharp and of excellent quality. Thereis a crease and a nick on the right-hand side of one photo and a short tear onthe left-hand side of the other photo (see images). The photos were previouslymounted and removed from an album as the back still retains much of the paperto which they were attached.
