To be clear this is a Genuine BC Rich USA neck - from the Senior Era - early years, circa early 90s. This has been verified for me by a BC Rich experts (I'm not one). The signature on the back is snr. and roughly early 90s. Th...is was a time when BC Rich USA was building killer guitars and they now fetch pretty wild prices.
When I bought this from Japan I wasn't sure what it was... the neck came with a strat body and it was quite confusing until I realised the scale length wasn't a match for the strat body. Clearly a project gone pear shaped that someone wanted to offload. I saw the signature on the neck heel and I sought the help of experts (as above).
With a Genuine Senior-era USA neck I decided to source a body from Japan. My gut tells me it is a Fernandes, but I have no way of confirming this as the pocket has no markings. TBH there were so many Mockingbird copies in Japan during the 90s. I can't be clear enough here that I don't know the the exact brand of body.
Scale length is a match. Intonation is good.
Neck is amazing to play. I have leveled the frets, but haven't yet crowned, polished or set up. And yet it feels better than most guitars already. I built a new bone nut for it as well.
There is good room on the truss rod, and it works well.
Tuners are Yamaha Japan.
All electronics are working well. As you can imagine the. covered bridge PUP is hot. I am not sure what brand they are as there are no markings on them. The covered PUP looks like Fernandes style.
Body is in good condition. Some small scratches, no major dings etc. There is patina on the hardware (as you'd expect from an older guitar) but overall it's a beautiful looking beast.
The side of the headstock had a scratch (on the side under the USA) so i sanded and then sprayed with tinted lacquer. Not very noticeable - see pics.
As I say, I don't want to sell it, but I don't need it... I was keeping it as a trophy guitar, but I don't have room and would prefer for it to go to someone who wants to play the hell out of it.
That's about it really... hit me up with questions.
