This rod is near mint condition. I cant find anything wrong with it. Rods is 80 years old and looks like it was made yesterday. Nice vintage fly rod to go out and fish with. Rod cant be any straighter and all pieces are same length and everything is all original to each other. Shakespeare Model "Spring Brook" #1362 Bass & Trout 9' ft rod depending on what weight line you want to use. This was a mid level rod out of about 8 rods South Bend / Cross rod company b...uilt for Shakespeare. This is #5 and there is about 4 more rods under this one that were also built by South Bend. South Bend didn't build all of Shakespeare's rods. Other company's did also. This rod is from around 1940 give or take few years. Dated by the type of reel seat on the rod. MINT CONDITION. Has all labels intact even on the original tube. Comes with Original tube and rod sock(like new no tears). This rod is in MINT condition with the original varnish coat. barely fished. Ferrules are nickel silver. Super lite weight at 5 oz. Rainbow color SILK wraps are all original. Main line guide is silver agate and tips are silver as well. Really nice vintage USA rod and ready to fish. READY TO COLLECT OR FISH. GUARANTEE NO CRACKS IN THE FERRULES OR ANY WERE ELSE ON THE ROD. NOTHING LOOSE AND NO DEFECTS. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WRONG WITH THIS ROD GUARANTEED. YOU WONT HAVE NO PROBLEMS WITH THIS. THIS THINGS SOLID AND GOES TOGETHER AND COMES APART AS PERFECT AS YOU CAN GET. all the original cork is there. vintage rod ready to go fishing. Goes together and comes apart real well with that nice pop sound. Super lite 5 oz, 5 to 6 weight line. These don't come around too often for sell in this condition. This could be an upgrade rod for a collection. I took lots of pictures of all sides, so you know what your getting. Before the 1930s depression days. Most rods made during the depression had the quality cut back like the ferrules, no agate guides, less guides on each piece, not this one. When you look for quality in vintage rod you look for more guides added on the mid section & tips. Agate guides are a plus and this rod has one.
