notarized transcription of a notice of Captain Stellwagen to the Mahler family in Königsberg
Stellwagen, CaptainAfrica, 15. august 1942Dear family Mahler !Today I received a radio message from the commanding office in Königsberg, asking for information on whether your son Günther had been injured or fallen. Günther was severely wounded on May 27, 1942 on the right thigh by a shrapnel fragment and died on the same day on the main dressing station. The whole company mourns with you, dear family Mahler.
