Vintage WWII Military Aviation AIR FORCE World Globe Denoyer Geppert Industrial

https://www.madeinchicagomuseum.com/single-post/denoyer-geppertA great quote from the article on this particular globe: "One of the company’s most celebrated globes was a 20-inch wartime model made from industrial, hollow-spun metal with a minimalist three-color look: blue water, black land masses, gold outlines. Besides being exceptionally bad-ass, it was also ...the favored globe at many military bases, as officers could write on it with chalk—hence the name, “Slated Outline Activity Globe.” Today, those suckers [pictured above] routinely sell for upwards of $2, 000."Make no mistake, this is MUCH larger than a normal globe. This globe stands about 27 inches tall, weighs about 15 pounds. Has a small dent toward the bottom, which is easy to miss (the photo accentuates it a bit). Some typical rubs/scratches. The base, assume it's steel, has a bit of rust that I would guess you could buff out. Looks like it may have had a sticker or something on the base; I didn't bother to try to remove. I saved this from an old shed....just wiped it off with a damp cloth. Assume it would look even nicer with a bit more work. Tag on bottom reads: Non-public, auxiliary use.VERY VERY cool.
