Original Description:
What remains of a very early blacksmith made hand wrought iron sword with a ring at the pommel and having a wonderful curving to the ends of the guard. The blade is some what curved for the last 1/4 of the blade and there is a hump on the back side of the blade toward the tip. The sword measures approximately 37" overall with the blade being 27 1/2" in length. I can find no markings on its heavily rusted surface. Condition - artifact condition having apparently been excavated at some p...oint in its past with a rusted surface some chip loss to the cutting edge of the blade, no grips apparently long gone etc. What is present is solid. Sword is fresh to the market from a very early Hudson River estate.
