A vintage cockpit clock ACHS-1 (АЧС-1) from the USSR. It was produced by "Chelyabinsk Watch Plant" (CHCHZ), Russia. There are threaded pins on the back that can be used to attach the watch to different surfaces.
The watch consists a current time mechanism, a stopwatch mechanism and a flight time mechanism a regulator and controls. The flight time and stopwatch mechanisms work from the current time mechanism and can be turned on and off independently of eac...h other.
- A dial with three scales is used to take time readings: Large scale - for counting time in hours, minutes and seconds FLIGHT TIME scale - for counting flight time in hours and minutes "SEC" (stopwatch) scale - for counting the stopwatch operating time in minutes - The clock is controlled by two heads: The left red crown is intended for winding the watch and moving the hands, starting, stopping and returning the hands of the flight time mechanism to the initial position. The watch is wound by turning the crown counterclockwise. The head has no reverse rotation. The hands are translated by pulling the crown out to the stop and turning it counterclockwise.The flight time mechanism is started by pressing the crown (until it clicks). At the same time, in the rectangular opening of the dial, you can see a red signal. The flight time mechanism is stopped by pressing the crown a second time. At the same time, a signal of two colors is visible in the opening of the dial: red and a luminous mass (for watches with index "B").The return of the arrows of the flight time mechanism to the initial position is carried out by a third push on the left head. In the opening of the dial, one can see the light mass (for watches with the index "B") or a white signal (for watches with the indexes "K" and "B"). The right crown (with an arrow-pointer) is intended for starting and stopping the watch, as well as starting, stopping and returning to the initial position of the stopwatch hands. The watch is started and stopped by turning the crown along the arrow-pointer on it (or against the arrow).
