IT APPEARS THAT THE TOP OF HANDLE HAD A FIGURE THAT WAS REMOVED. This is a very rare antique solid and heavy sterling silver spoon from Bar Harbor Maine dating back to years around 1892 featuring on the heavy handle figural Indian arrow, SEE NOTE ABOVE. Probably another figure or a coin was going to be attached to the top. In the bowl it has writing BAR HARBOR. This kind of heavy cast spoons were made by Gorham Mfg. Co. around the year 1892. Within few years after the cast method of ma...king spoons was abandoned in favor of embossed type. Condition of the spoon is excellent, measures 4-1/4” long (106 mm) in length and is in excellent condition, feels solid, weights 18.2 grams. On the back of handle marked STERLING OVINGTON BROS and has maker’s hallmarks (lion anchor G) for Gorham Mfg. Co. Shipping on multiple purchases are gladly combined. Please see other, some rare, collector spoons I'm currently listing.
