VICTORIAN DERBY SILVER CO QUADRUPLE PLATE ART NOUVEAU AESTHETIC SOUP TUREEN
Item History & Price
Reference Number: Avaluer:529661 |
Up for auction is a rare and large Victorian soup tureen by Derby Silver Company in Quadruple Plate. The tureen is lovely featuring unusual details. The tureen is square in design, footed with two handles and features an East lake and Art Nouveau design and may be considered Steam punk. The four feet which supports the body of the tureen are similar to fans. The very wide band around the rim features an array of designs and with a little imagination you can see Charlot's Web, the Mary Gregory children playing along with sunflowers, lilies and butterflies. The footed square design is unusual. The handles and finial are sturdy with no visible repairs. The etching on the cover is clear with good patina to accentuate the details. This is a very heavy large piece standing about 9.75 inches tall and 11.5 inches wide. There are no monograms or dents. The silver plate is in good condition as shown in the pictures. There is wear to the inside as shown. We will supply additional information and pictures if the buyer requests such. We do not believe in Buyers or Sellers Remorse. If we sell an item for less than worth we will still ship as part of our agreement but if you purchase an item we expect you to live up to your part of the bargain. Please ask questions.
