This is for a fabulous art deco Austrian silver and enamel cigarette case from the early 1900s. It is a top quality well made case with hard glass enamel inset into both sides of the case in a very striking and unique geometric 2 colour design. The silver is also decorated with engine turned panels again to both sides along with a stylised monogram inset in blue enamel to the front. The inside of the case has been nicely gilded and it has its original silver bar which is hing...ed and engraved on both sides. The case is marked inside 'Made in Austria' along with silver marks, jewellers numbers and makers marks as shown. It needs a little light restoration there are a couple of chips to the very edge of the blue enamel and it needs a little catch fitting to the spring that opens the box, the little hole is there for it, so it would be easy enough. It measures 80mm (3") x 60mm (2.25").
