Original Description:
Fabulous and huge example of Mexican metal work, this crab has a copper bowl-shaped body with legs and eyes of brass decorated with abalone.  Measures 21 inches from side to side, 12 inches front to back and 4 1/2 inches high. Marked under the edge of the copper with a Montezuma figure, Metales Casados D15 Handwrought Hecho en Mexico. We have seen these crabs attributed to Los Castillo but this piece does not have their mark. In excellent vintage condition with only minor surface wea...r, some spots of oxidation, but no damage.
