LARGE (PINT) STERLING SILVER TANKARD - CRISFORD & NORRIS - B'HAM 1952 - 10.03ozt LARGE (PINT) STERLING SILVER TANKARD - CRISFORD & NORRIS - B'HAM 1952 - 10.03ozt This is a great looking, stylish and weighty vintage English silver pint tankard as pictured. It has been engraved and dated (1965) on one side so it was presumably presented at that time, most likely as a Christening gift. This engraving cou...ld probably be professionally polished out or alternatively the tankard could be engraved on the opposite side so it may well make a nice Christening gift for someone special once again.The tankard has been assayed in Birmingham during 1952 by Crisford & Norris Ltd. It bears the special Elizabeth II Coronation hallmark that was only used that year.It stands approximately 5" tall with a top rim diameter of approximately 3.5" and it weighs in at 10.83 troy ounces or 336.9 grams.The tankard has some typical, light, faint age related surface scuffs and scratches around the bodywork but I have found no really deep or serious dents anywhere around the bodywork to report. The tankard is tested as watertight with no splits or holes.I have left it uncleaned so no doubt a good polish will further restore former glory.This super looking and good sized sterling silver tankard is being offered here in a used vintage condition, exactly as pictured and with no reserve. Sorry but there is no Buy It Now price available.
