Historic images of Native American Chiefs arriving by ship to Fort Wadsworth on Staten Island for the ground breaking ceremony for the American Indian Monument. Financed by wealthy merchant Rodney Wanamaker the effort was halted by the onset of WWI and the monument was never built.
