Vintage Mens Rolex 1002 Oyster Perpetual Stainless Steel 1960s Watch

This elegant and clean-design Rolex Oyster Perpetual (ref 1002) was worn by the seller's father for many years. He is believed to be the original owner.
A recent valuation for insurance purposes by a reputable jeweler provided a serial number of 1548703, indicating a production year of 1967, and described it as a "Men's stainless steel Oyster Perpetual Rolex watch with silver dial, Jubilee bracelet and deployment clasp." As a discontinued piece, a replacement value... for insurance purposes was placed at $5, 050 for a "similar/updated model".
Case, crystal and band/bracelet show general wear from regular use. Clasp on band closes snugly but opens easily. Timekeeping mechanism seems to be in good working condition, based on brief use about a year ago (note change in position of second hand from photo to photo). Crown is tightly in place now; it was not forced open for testing before listing for sale. Selling as-is.
