This is a Civil War Camp Iron Spike Candle Holder Dug in Chancellorsville Virginia.  I dug this  on private property associated with the battle of Chancellorsville that was occupied and used by both Union and Confederate soldiers.  The last photo is what this looked like right after I dug this from the ground.   I did clean it up a little.  It is in amazing shape for an iron item that was in the ground for over 150 years.  There is a chip on the lip a...s can be seen in the photos. These types of candle holders were used frequently by soldiers during the civil war as they could be pounded into a log and then removed when done.  A great and original Civil War Camp item.
