RARE 1953 Madame Alexander 18 " LADY CHURCHILL " Hp Doll Of The BEAUX ARTS Series

This is a 1953 18" hard plastic "LADY CHURCHILL" with Margaret face of the Beaux Arts Series. She is a "Less than Perfect Doll", although in very fine condition. I believe she is all original in her original floor length satin opera coat with rhinestone trim circling neckline, pink taffeta floor length gown, petticoat, panties, sheer stockings, satin shoes, metal/rhinestone tiara and earrings. A rhinestone is missing from one earring and two rhinestones missing ...from the coat, which could be easily replaced. Her face color is excellent. A Madame Alexander tag is sewn at the collar of her gown. To my knowledge, the clothes have never been washed or cleaned, and could use a cleaning, but still look quite nice I have never undressed her to check anything further. Her hair is very well kept, obviously in the original style, not mussed at all. The sleep eyes open and close perfectly. Her wig is pulled away slightly (unglued) at the temple on both sides and needs to be reglued. (see pics) Doll stand included. The Madame Alexander Price Guide shows her to be $2300 and up in mint condition (2009). Using a scale of: Mint, xlnt, very fine, fine, good, fair and poor, I think she would rate a very fine. She has withstood the perils of ageing very, very well. I'm starting the auction at $400.
