This Conn alto sax was made in 1924 according to its serialnumber (#M143XXX). It doesn’t have the “nail file” G# so it can’t be called a“Chu Berry, ” but it’s serial number puts it in the early part of the “NewWonder Series II” range. This sax is in good structural condition, with no dents orsigns of any previous significant damage or repair. The silver plating ismostly in good shape, but there are worn spots on the palm keys, the octavekey, the side Bb and C keys, and... the left hand thumb hook. Otherwise theplating is tarnished, but it should polish up nicely. The gold wash in the bellis still present. The roller is missing from the left hand low Bb key platter. This sax has rolled tone holes that all look to be in good condition. All thekeys move freely with no mechanical problems that we can detect. The pads areold and this horn will need to be repadded to put it into good playingcondition. The case is original to the instrument and is in goodcondition, with only minor scuffs and no damage to the wood at all. The handle, latches and hinges all work as they should. All reasonable offers considered. Please ask any questions before purchase. Our store has been in continuousbusiness in Indianapolis, IN, USA since 1948.
