RARE ANTIQUE (1840) EARLY MOTTU (GENEVE) 18 ct GOLD OPEN FACED POCKET WATCH (WORKING)
This rare antique 18 ct gold pocket watch made by the Mottu brothers of Geneve is in exceptional condition and in good working order. The Mottu brothers were well-known high class watch and clock makers and this is a beautiful example of their work. The item is inscribed on the cuvette, the inner cover that protects the movement whilst the key is being used, "examined by G.A.... Godwin 304 High Street, Holborn, London." The hallmarks on the inside of the case are:-1. K18 - 18 ct gold2. MF - Maker3. oGo - Geneve
The key is not, I think, the original key.
