Original Description:
Nice example of the classic RCA / Westinghouse type RC radio .. This was the RA tuner and DA detector/amplifier units combined into a single cabinet. It originally was introduced in 1921-1922 and was one of the first actual "radios" available commercially. The RC (RA-DA) three tube regenerative receivermanufactured by the Westinghouse Electric and Manufacturing Company of East Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. This unit was also sold under the Radiola name and was one ofthe first commercially p...roduced radios.

The receiver is a two section receiver housed in a single wood enclosure. The sectionon the left is the "RA" unit and functions as the tuner of the receiver. It containsa variometer for tuning in the radio stations and the tickler variometer for controllingthe regenerative feedback. The section on the right is the "DA" unit and functionsas the detector amplifier. It contains the three tubes - one type UV-200 for the detectorand two types UV-201-A for the first and second audio amplifiers. The combined RA-DAreceiver is known as an "RC" receiver.
It's in very nice, complete & original condition. All the controls move easily and all of the binding posts on the rear are original to the set. The four round
bars on the rear panel connect the the two components electrically together. In use the radio would require a set of batteries [or a power supply] for both A and B voltages, an external long wire antenna and a set of headphones or a high impedance speaker. The cabinet finish is original.
Only a couple of issues to mention ... both of the original audio transformers have open sections in the windings [easily bridged with an R/C network or there is plenty of room under the chassis to hide a modern interstage transformer to bypass the originals] ... and the rubber strips that isolate the tube
shelf from vibration have cracked from old age .. easy enough to replace or just leave the tube shelf tacked [lightly spot glued] to the support arms and use it as is. The three globe O1A  tubes shown are included but are display / dud tubes.

The set measures approx 13.5" X 10" X 10" deep and very well packed shipping weight will be 19.5 pounds from zip code 24012.
