Our Father is gone and we are left the loss of him to mournBut may we hope to meet again with Christ before the throne
Angelina's details are stitched beneath the verse with a flower to their left. The lower section of the gauze is stitched with a central square motif with a green dog to its left and right and a tree and crown beneath. There is a tree, heart and bird by the dog on the left side and a bird and red lion by the dog on the right. There is a tree and flower beneath the green tree and crown with a flower on each side. The bottom edge of the gauze is stitched with a central flower flanked by a deer and crown and tulip urn which has a heart and tree to its left side and a crown to its right. The whole piece is then surrounded by a red, green and yellow line border. The gauze has overall discolouration consistent with its age, slightly grubby in places with some faint staining. The colours of the wool are good with some small areas of stitch loss and minor bleeding to the dark green stitching. The last photo is of the reverse of the sampler and indicates how the colours would have looked when Angelina first stitched it. The penultimate photo is of the information paper mentioned earlier. Measures 15 3/4" x 22"
