This is the complete music score for the critically acclaimed 1979 TV movie starring Lindsay Wagner as a courageous doctor who returns to her roots in the Appalachian Mountains in the 1930s, and encounters resistance from the local medicine woman (Jane Wyman) who prefers more traditional remedies. Composed in the same year as his superb score for Roots: The Next Generations, Gerald Fried’s music for Meg Laurel is in the same musical vein - heartfelt, melodically rich, rhythmically ex...citing, with a strong main theme that reflects the physical journey Meg has to make from Boston to the Appalachians and also her emotional journey as she slowly earns the respect and admiration of the isolated mountain community.
With a generous playing time of 74 minutes, the score is in dynamic sounding mono, with NO dialog or sound effects. This is not a factory pressed disc and I always offer a full refund for any buyer not happy with their purchase.
