Original Description:
Turn of Century  (1800's) Lid to a Chinese porcelain TEA CADDY Jar- I thank very much the very sharp and respectful seller who offer up the following information -This is the inner lid to a Chinese porcelain TEA CADDY Jar Called Rose Canton, 19th century (1800's) .A bit more information   (while is Not a salt dish, one could always use as such) .  Canton or Cantonese porcelain is the characteristic style of... ceramic ware decorated in Guangzhou, the capital of Guangdong and (prior to 1842) the sole legal port for export of Chinese goods to Europe. As such, it was one of the major forms of exportware produced in China in the 18th and 20th centuries. ... Canton Famille rose in the 19th century was typically decorated with .----  Rose Medallion has a unique pattern, often containing a central medallion that is either a bird or a peony. ... In fact, if there are no birds or people pictured, that is “Rose Canton.” If there are people, but no birds, that is known as “Rose Mandarin.” Nice to have an extra lid, at low cost, in case yours breaks-- it happens
Dish ishand painted, heavy paint, while this is very Vintage, 1800's I don’t know the makerBUT on the back are 2 spots where there was or are marks-can’t be madeout.  The back side is very rough withwhat looks like it was glued to something or setting somewhere for a long time. This item is more crude that other salt dishes—est. size is 3” round. I do seeglue res. From a price sticker—I don’t wash with anything that is harsh –never wantto take anything away-will let the collector do their things. No one should pay more than they want, but wealso don’t like to look at the end, and say I would have paid .50 more. Put inyour Max.   Read my ME -on thoughts aboutauctions.  I don’t end listings that havea bid. Nothing ventured Nothing gained. If this is a “Make an Offer”, I am open during thesetimes to accept reasonable offers. I try to price my items, way undermarket.  Also never want to limited theuse of make an offer, like to deal, and understand the way the economy istoday, if you like something and it might be above what your limit might be, talk to me.SHIPPING:  You have choices on shipping!!   I package all items with the utmost care, the way I would like to get them.  Irecommend Priority Shipping, it is best for both of us. On paper items if youselect first class, I will put in support in the envelope, please understand, at times, these get bend or fold in a pile of mail and weight on top will bend.  With priority I put autographs in a box. Ican’t foresee what might happen in shipping, but on major damage or lost youwill have my full help in the matter. It will become a TIME issue, understandthis please, we both will need to follow their procedures. This service shouldbe done by all sellers.
I will COMBINE INVENTORY without a problem but please let meknow what you have in mind, keep me in the loop. I like to ship fast, and ifdon’t know will pack and post quickly. Would like payment or CONVERSATION within 3 days, (PAYPAL) please ask any question if you are in doubt in any way about anything inregards to the item, before biding or purchase.CUSTOMS & SHIPPING –MOST IMPORTANT INFORMATION-International Buyers NOTE:  You are responsible for customs fees and may experience delays due to customs.   Import duties, taxes and charges are NOT included in the item price or shipping charges. These charges are the buyer’s responsibility. These charges are normally collected by the delivering freight (shipping) company or when you pick the item up—do not confuse them for additional shipping charges. Please check with your country’s Customs office to determine what these additional costs will be prior to bidding/buying and or if your Customs might be a problem with delivery.   We do not mark merchandise values below value- US and International government regulations prohibit such behavior.  GLASS items will be insured when I can (first class at times will not allow, different rules different counties—protects us both. WARNING: When shipping internationally if you know that there will be an item that may not get through customs.  IT WOULD BE BEST TO HAVE ITEMS (THAT WOULD QUALIFY VIA REGISTERED MAIL—Items then can be traced at each step— Most items can be shipped worldwide. Free shipping option; this option is for domestic shipping only. The shipping calculator should show you what the shipping +packaging will cost for domestic and often international purchases. As a general rule, I can, at your request, ship an item First Class International. By paying for an item being shipped First Class International, buyer should assume responsibilities for YOU POSTAL SERVICES.  Damaged/Shipping:                                                  ·        Time to Time shipping damagehappens. As a seller I will do everything I can to help get refunds/claimdamage returned to my buyers.  Pleasenote this will take time and more work on my part, but I am a seller and thisis one of my responsibilities with each and every client. BUT buyers can make this easier for both of us. This is most important withglass items/breakables. Do this from all sellers.·        When item is delivered, give the box a small shake-can you hear breakage/damage— IF SO do not accept the delivery (refuse) and have them send it back to sender. If you’re not at home, still check before you open (small shake) -- don't open it-take to post office and again tell them you refuse-shipment-Post office will sentback without cost IF notopened. If a problem with clerkask for the post master!  Seller is the only one that can make the claim (not eBay/Seller’s rules–they are the post office rules and most all shippers). This is the reason sellers will state thatthey will not pay for damaged return shipping – those costs most times happen because the box has beenopened.  The postal clerk will makenotes; they received and then ship back to me. I then, will go to the postoffice, where they will open at that time, make notes and I will file theclaim. NOTE: With eBay (doesn’t matter if we had insurance for more money)shippers, all of them, will ONLYpay the amount that client (buyer) paid for the item –I will need to fill out forms, give themthe copies of the sale (prove of the value) and shipping costs. Again only costshipping to buyer. Most times this takes about 2 months, last problem I had was3 trips to post office, 2 calls to their main damaged claims office (in St.Louis) and 3 months before they sent me a check, which I then transferred theamount back to my client. They lost the first set of paper work, found out onone of the calls to claim center. I pack super well (don’t want the problemsfor either of us) but as we have seen at times, the delivery services don’talways handle items the way they should have been handled.     Please check out my feedback as to Quality Offer & Received.Hope you will add us to your favorites list!.This general information will be on most all of my listings.Understand use when applies.  At times Iput some items from the store on BIN or Auction sale, when eBay is offering aspecial deal, and always at a super price—WIN WIN for all of us.  Reservethe right to cancel or change an auction due to little or no bid activity. Iwill do my best to give accurate representations, descriptions and pictures ofany item I sell. Many of the items I sell on eBay are antique, collectible, Memorabilia and a few other goodies. Normal signs of wear can be expected. Many customers have commented thatreceived items were better than described. On occasion I may miss a defect orsomething that should be brought to a buyers’ attention. Please remember, mistakes are not intentional and am always willing to add information orcorrections, without hesitation.    Life is not always set in stone, at times; it can and should benegotiated.
