For sale without reserve is this fine quality solid silver antique 15 jewel pocket watch made by Sir John Bennett in 1884. The well known watchmaker was a maker to The Royal Observatory and had his workshop in Cheapside London. The inner back cover of the case is engraved with the details.The watch has just had a full service and has been timed and tested, it keeps very good time. It winds by the crown and is pin set. There is a patented trade mark on the balance bridge.
V...ery nice white enamel dial with black roman numerals and seconds subsidiary dial. Fine condition dial without any damage or hairlines, Nice set of original matching blue steel hands.
Good sized solid silver case with London assay hallmark for 1884. The case is heavy good gauge silver covers with strong hinges closing down tight. The condition of the case is generally good but there are a couple of dints on the back cover. Diameter size of case is 50mm and 70mm if you include the bow. Please study the photographs as part of the description, and ask any questions.
I will accept the watch back for refund if the buyer is disappointed or feels it has been poorly described.
Going into auction without reserve and just .99p start. Nice watch for the collector being 135 years old and with historical interest.
