Tonight I'm happy to offer, from a recently purchased estate, Sherman, Vintage, Late 1950's - Emerald Green, Olive Green and Green AB - Round and Marquise Shaped Crystals - 1" Wide Japanned Finish Open Work Crystal Cluster Bracelet and Earring Set. EXTREMELY RARE COLOR COMBINATION - BOOK PIECE! - EXCELLENT CONDITION! - NO RESERVE! This handsome and impressive set dates from the late 1950's, made by the well known Canadian firm of "Sherman" designed as a 1" wide, openwork motif bracelet... featuring alternating lines of marquise and large and small round shaped crystals. The set is done in a series of dazzling and intense emerald green, olive green and green AB color round and marquise shaped crystals set in a black japanned plated setting. The bracelet comes with a pair of 1.25" leaf cluster earrings that match the details in the bracelet. The bracelet measures 7" in length with a width of 1".
This bracelet, in various color variations, can be seen on page 71 and throughout the new Yallen and Caldwell Sherman book - "Sherman Jewellery - The Masterpiece Collection". The set is in excellent condition showing only normal use all the original stones, none missing or replaced. There is a very small loss to the finish or plating on the back of the bracelet and earrings, this is very minor, does not detract and common with Sherman's japanned pieces. The bracelet is not marked but collectors will recognize the design and know that Sherman Jewelry was sold through independent jewelry stores and large department stores such as Eaton's, Morgan's, Simpson's and Henry Birks & Son. In many cases, <usually the beaded items and sets> the pieces were in a Sherman store box or on a card marked "Jewels of Elegance" some identified only with a silver paper string tag.
The earrings are marked, Sherman on the back of the clips and match the details in the bracelet.
