SELLING UNUSUAL AND RARE ITEMS ON EBAY FOR 21 YEARS-QUALITY, NOT QUANTITY! - A beautiful and rare hand painted image of United States President James Monroe on a white porcelain pipe bowl. The pipe has a clean break off the bottom with the stem, and it appears nearly invisible when held together, as first photo shows. The bowl appears well used. The bowl is most likely of German make, as it was found with a similar hand-painted bowl that is definately German. [That pipe, GENERLSTAB, is... now on a separate ebay auction] We think that this pipe was likely sold late in President Monroe's term or soon after. The stem break is so clean that it would probably be possible to re-attach it with the correct adhesive to make it appear undamaged. We, have not done anything to try to re-attach it or to clean it. The painted image of Monroe is unusually detailed and well done, as if a small oil painting. Selling as is.
