Chorreran axe heads are rare enough, but these particular specimens are extraordinary due to the engraving on one side and their large size.One axe head is 6 1/2” from tip to tip and 5 3/4” in the other direction and the other is about 6” from tip to tip by about 5 5/8” in the other direction. Each piece weighs about two pounds.I purchased these from a gentleman at his estate’s downsizing sale.Please search the internet for additional information regarding the Chorrera (Pre-C...olumbian Ecuador) culture.I think you will agree. These rare axe heads are exceptional. They will be sold to the highest bidder in this no reserve auction.
