For sale today we have this incredibly rare Doulton Lambeth salesman's sample, miniature fireplace surround. In 15 years this is the first of these that I've come across so I think it's fair to say that there aren't many around! The surround features a 3 pillared fender with acanthus leaf edging and cobalt blue tops, while the infill tiling has a deeply recessed textured rosette style design. Stands 22.5 cm long x 8 cm deep. Bears a Doulton Lambeth stamp under the glaze to the fron...t and hand painted Hx to the base..
A striking piece presented to the market in excellent condition. There are 3 minor chips as shown, to be noted. This miniature would make a wonderful addition to any serious Doulton collection. .
