RARE original WW2 RAF 'Q' Type SAILING DINGHY sea charts entitled "FAERO ISLANDS" & "NORWAY WEST" (Double-Sided Silk)
These fantastic rescue crafts were designed to be more than just a floating inflatable. To allow downed airmen to find their way to safety rather than simply awaiting rescue, they came supplied with sails, rigging, instructions, silk sea charts and various other pieces of useful survival equipment.
Originally, the instructions and charts came riveted toge...ther, but I have acquired a set without the rivet - hence the small hole in the top corner.
Please note, this listing is for a single silk sheet with one sea chart on each side.
Given that they were packed aboard the raft and considered a single use item, they were produced without a hem which has led to some slight fraying around the edges.
