PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE LISTING BEFORE BIDDING/BUYING! Up for grabs here is a vintage 1970's Matsumoku-made Aria Pro II SB-700 bass guitar. This is an early '78-'79 model as evidenced by the 'batwing' headstock only found on earlier models. This is very similar to the SB-1000 model that Duran Duran's John Taylor played for many years. Condition-wise the bass is in unbelievably good shape with only three tiny dings (shown) and very light swirl marks that I couldn't pick up with my camera.... There is no buckle rash and no other damage to the bass, it has been extremely well looked after throughout its almost 40 year lifetime. The bass was recently set up with new strings, the neck is straight and the truss rod works as it should. At 9lb 12oz this bass is not for the faint of heart (or shoulder) but it is a really cool and distinctive instrument that deserves to be played. It's very comfortable and ergonomic and the sculpted neck heel allows you access all the way to the top of the fretboard. It breaks my heart to sell such a rare and beautiful vintage piece from a wonderful period in guitarmaking history but the truth is I don't really play it as much as I was hoping I would so it's time for it to move on to a new home. These don't come up for sale very often so grab it now before you miss out! Includes the original hardshell case, which aside from a few scuffs in the tolex is in similarly amazing shape for its age, with the handle, hinges and latches all working perfectly. Note - I always loosen the strings whenever I ship an instrument so while it may be set up well at the moment, when it is detuned for shipping some adjustments will more than likely be necessary after you receive it so that it is set up to your preferences. I am thinning the herd and in the coming weeks I will be shifting a whole bunch of gear, so watch my other listings! This item will be packed securely for shipping.
