AntiqueSmith Beck & BeckBrass Universal MicroscopeThis is a scarce microscope that dates to the 1860s. This microscope would be a great project, most of the microscope is in very nice original condition, unfortunately it is missing a couple of parts. The back of the microscope should have a lever and tightening wheel for tilting the entire top. The bottom of the table should have a brass rod for attaching a mirror. This would be a fun project for someone with a little bit of m...etalworking experience, if I didn't have other projects it would make an enjoyable endeavor. The optics need cleaned but are fully intact. The box is the correct original box for this microscope. Overall the box is in good solid untouched condition. One side of the box has a old deep curved scratch as can be seen in the photos, the inside of the door originally had a wooden holder for extra eyepieces, this wooden piece is not intact and there is no key.Despite its flaws this has a great look and remains a wonderful piece of mid 19th century optics.Cool PieceIf you have any further questions please feel free to contact me.
