1920's Original Vintage Antique Football Sculpture~ Stiff Arming Runner~Bronze
Fantastic original, vintage, antique football sculpture from the 1920's measures 4"H and portrays a vintage style footballer running with a stiff arm block, perched on a beautiful hammered base. It is very well done with great detail.
This piece is from my own personal collection of unique, rare and scarce displayable, figural items. I have been collecting these for close to 30 years, an...d I always looked for the one-of-a-kind, or rarely seen pieces. I purchased this piece in an antique store in lancaster, Pennsylvania about 20 years ago, and have never seen another example of this little sculpture.
I am not too familiar with metals, but I believe this piece to be bronze. It has nice weight for it's size, has a beautiful aged patina, and is in nice condition. It may be a cast piece, or it may be an original. It is not signed. I will be listing most of my displayable vintage, antique football collection over the next year.
