26 " Antique Bisque Head Composition German Kestner Doll 171

DESCRIPTION:This listing is for a lovely German Kestner Alphabet Series doll who measures approx. 26" tall. Incised on the back of her bisque head is "Made in K Germany 14, 171". Reference tells me this doll was made by J.D. Kestner, 1897+ Germany being of the Alphabet "K" series. A number and letter always went together. She is a bisque socket head, with strung wooden composition jointed body. She has all fingers and toes intact. Body is stamped on the lower ba...ck "Made in Germany". Body shows some overall wear, scuffs, paint loss for being 100 or so years old but nothing terrible. A lovely & expressive face with open and close blue glass sleepy eyes, she has painted lashes around eyes, brush stroked painted brows and open mouth with upper teeth, there is a little dimple in her chin. Face is nice with no paint rubs or problems. A good bisque with no cracks or hairlines. Her antique human hair wig shows overall wear, it slips nicely over a plaster pate on her head. I flashed her head inside and do not see any cracks or hairlines. She wears a vintage velvet dress with lace collar and trim, there are snaps down the back for closure, antique slip with pantaloons, stockings and light brown shoes. She wears a gorgeous bonnet on her head, her bonnet may be vintage but do not believe antique. I have taken plenty of photos, please look at my photos to serve as part of this description.
