15 " Antique Bisque Head Composition German J. D. K. Kestner Baby Doll 247 W REPAIR

This listing is for an antique JDK Kestner German Bisque Head Character Baby doll for "Display" or further "Restoration". Doll is a difficult to find mold #247 often referred to as "Hilda's sister", circa 1914, Germany. Doll measures approx. 15" tall being a bisque socket head (multiple line crack repairs including line down forehead, line crack from left corner eye down to neck, line crack under neck from ear to ear, line crack on back of head covered... by wig), see photos. Head is all together with this repair but you may wish further restoration to your liking. Doll has a composition body that is strung fine and jointed at the neck, shoulders and hips, all fingers intact with right hand index finger missing part of the very nail tip. Body is stamped with red ink "Made in Germany" on the upper back. She displays well sitting or standing with a doll stand. A "sweet" face with fixed open blue glass eyes, painted lashes around the eyes, brown brush stroked eye brows, baby has open mouth with molded tongue, high color blush on face. As mentioned line crack repair from the corner of the left eye down to the neck area, also mentioned down across the forehead. Mohair wig is soft, secure on the head, a small piece at the back was lifted up to see the markings and could use a touch of glue to secure back down. Doll wears vintage pink blouse, velvet shorts, undies, stockings and shoes. Clothing is not antique like this doll but charming.
