This crystal set has no label or branding but appears to be commercially made. It has an embossed "G" for ground terminal & "A" for antenna next to two of the binding posts on the top bakelite, something unlikely to be found on a home brew. I would make a guess, based on the parts that compose this crystal radio, that this was made sometime in the mid-1920's into the 1930's. Binding posts are period nickel-plated and the detector design is very similar to, if not, a Star Manufactur...ing detector of the 1920's. The galena crystal is clean, bright & very sensitive. Cat whisker is clean metal wire and is adjustable. This crystal radio requires a 50 to 100' long wire antenna, connection to a ground (copper cold water pipe or copper grounding rod) and a pair of high impedance headphones or a crystal earpiece.NO International sales!
