A Pretty rarer large 24" early unmarked Bebe Jumeau wearing original simple cotton organza chemise with lace trim and earrings. Her only marking is the numeral 11 incised at the back of her head. This lovely open mouth Jumeau dates from the 1890s. Her pale bisque socket head with rosy cheeks is on her original fully jointed French composition/ wood body stamped " Bebe Jumeau / Bte S G D G / Depose ". She has lovely blue glass paper-weight fixed eyes with painted upper and lower lashes..., multi stroke arching brows, open slightly smiling mouth with six upper teeth, pierced ears with turquoise bead glass earrings, lovely later human hair long brown wig. Missing cork pate ( has a later card pate ).CONDITION : Bisque socket head is in very good to excellent condition with no cracks or hairlines. Has 3 tiny chips behind right ear. Has been light tested. Her lovely chunky original French body has retained original finish. Has some crazing to the lower arms, small repair to right lower back leg ( see photo ) hands repainted, has all fingers and toes. Has a non working mama but bellows look intact. Has been restring and poses well.A really pleasing Jumeau doll ready to be dressed and displayed. Please study the photos carefully as they form a large part of the description.
